Description
HMO Course – This course covers the following topics:
- Overview of the licensing and HMO definitions
- Pre-tenancy checks
- Responsibilities and liabilities of a landlord or letting agent in regards to managing an HMO
- Setting up an HMO tenancy including types of tenancy, agreements and deposits.
- Property standards including HHSRS, damp fire safety, repairs and risk assessments
- Managing the tenancy including periodic visits, tenant obligations and entry/refusal
- HMO Licensing
- Ending a tenancy including eviction in line with HMO
The Course objective:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the various legislation associated with HMO properties
- Have an awareness of the compliance requirements for managing an HMO
- Have awareness of the processes HMO landlords are required to follow while managing an HMO
- Good understanding of the health and safety aspects of managing an HMO
